Association of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) in Salivary Gland Tumors

نویسندگان

چکیده

Aim: To identify the association of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) immunoexpression in progression salivary gland tumor. Study design: Comparative cross-sectional study Place and duration study: Department Pathology, Peshawar Medical College. Duration was six months from date approval. Methodology: Forty five specimen tumor were studied which 30 benign 15 malignant. The endpoint assessment included Hematoxylin & Eosin (H&E) VEGF immunoexpression. Results: expression with statistical significant (P<0.05). Maximum 18 samples (benign: 13, malignant: 5) shown to have strong expression, 24 16, 8) moderate expression. Whereas, small no found 2 0, 2) 1 1, 0) sample, respectively. Conclusion: Overexpression both malignant tumors might be associated progress tumors. Keywords Benign tumor, Warthin Adenoma, Salivary carcinoma, Vascular

Methodological Concerns Regarding Levels of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) in Serum of Women with Endometriosis

s:865:"We read with interest the manuscript entitled "Serum and peritoneal fluid levels of vascular endothelial growth factor in women with endometriosis" recently published in the International Journal of Fertility and Sterility (1). The authors measured the levels of vascular endothelial growth factor in serum and peritoneal fluid of 179 women, 90 of whom were diagnosed with endometriosis, an...

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is an autocrine growth factor for VEGF receptor-positive human tumors.

Angiogenesis is required for the progression of tumors from a benign to a malignant phenotype and for metastasis. Malignant tumor cells secrete factors such as vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), which bind to their cognate receptors on endothelial cells to induce angiogenesis. Here it is shown that several tumor types express VEGF receptors (VEGFRs) and that inhibition of VEGF (VEGF ant...

MiR-103 regulates the angiogenesis of ischemic stroke rats by targeting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)

Objective(s): To investigate the effect of miR-103 on the angiogenesis of ischemic stroke rats via targeting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) at the molecular level. Materials and Methods: Rat models had received the middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) or sham operation before grouping, and cell models of oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD) were performed. FITC-dextran, matrigel, and ...

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in endometriosis.

Angiogenesis is likely to be involved in the pathogenesis of endometriosis. According to the transplantation theory, when the exfoliated endometrium is attached to the peritoneal layer, the establishment of a new blood supply is essential for the survival of the endometrial implant and development of endometriosis. From the known angiogenic factors, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) has...

The Association Analysis of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor -2549 Insertion/Deletion Variant and Endometriosis Risk

Endometriosis is a debilitating disorder, defined as the presence of endometrial gland and stroma outside of the uterus. It may affect angiogenesis and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is one of the angiogenic factors that plays an important role in both physiological and pathological angiogenesis. The present study aimed to evaluate the association of VEGF -2549 insertion/deletion (I/...
